Harnessing solar energy is one of the most important practical insights highlighted to mitigate the severe climate change (CC) phenomenon. Therefore, this study aims to focus on the use of hybrid solar dryers (HSDs) within an environmentally friendly framework, which is one of the promising applications of solar thermal technology to replace traditional thermal technology that contributes to increasing the severity of the CC phenomenon. The HSD, based on a traditional electrical energy source (HSTEE) and electrical energy from photovoltaic panels (HSPVSE), was evaluated compared to a traditional electrical (TE) dryer for drying some medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs). This is done by evaluating some of the drying outputs, energy consumed, carbon footprint, and financial return at 30, 40, and 50°C. The best quality of dried MAP samples in terms of essential oil (EO, %) and microbial load was achieved at 40°C. The HSTEE dryer has reduced energy consumption compared to the TE dryer by a percentage ranging from 37% to 54%. The highest CO2 mitigated ratio using the HSTEE dryer was recorded in thyme, marjoram, and lemongrass samples, with values ranging from 45% to 54% at 30, 40, and 50°C. The highest financial return obtained from energy consumption reduction and carbon credit footprint was achieved at 50°C, with values ranging from 5,313.69 to 6,763.03 EGP/year (EGP ≈ 0.0352 USD) when coal was used as a fuel source for the generation of electricity. Moreover, the HSPVSE dryer achieved a 100% reduction in traditional energy consumption and then reduced CO2 emissions by 100%, which led to a 100% financial return from both energy reduction and carbon credit. The highest financial returns were observed at 50°C, with values ranging from 13,872.56 to 15,007.02, 12,927.28 to 13,984.43, and 11,981.99 to 12,961.85 EGP/year (EGP ≈ 0.0352 USD) for coal, oil, and natural gas, respectively. The HS dryers show potential for environmental conservation contribution; furthermore, earning money from energy savings and carbon credit could help improve the living standards and maximize benefits for stakeholders.

This study sought to determine the impact of implementing the energy management system ISO 50001 on the Zai Water Treatment Plant's energy efficiency performance and demonstrate how this implementation affected the cost and rate of energy consumption. The proposed study model contained three dependent variables-energy consumption, energy efficiency, and the cost of energy consumption. It also contained an independent variable-the energy management system ISO 50001. All these variables were used to develop various questions to help accomplish the study's goals. Planning was done by selecting pumping stations, selecting the most energy-consuming type of pump, and finally, choosing a pump maintenance project to improve energy performance. The researcher used the case of the Zai water pumping station as an example where the ISO 50001 energy management system was applied along with the stages of the Deming Cycle of management. Four pumping units from the Zai water pumping station served as the research sample for the study. •Find the impact of implementing the ISO 50001 energy management system on the energy efficiency performance of the Zai water treatment plant.•The effects of implementing ISO 50001 energy management system on cost and energy consumption at the Zai water treatment plant.•What effect does the ISO 50001 energy management system affect the Zai Water Treatment Plant's energy efficiency? After applying the ISO 50001 energy management system, several conclusions were drawn. Energy costs and consumption rates in the pumping units dropped while the energy efficiency in the chosen pumping units increased.

With the increasing utilization of data in various industries and applications, constructing an efficient data pipeline has become crucial. In this study, we propose a machine learning operations-centric data pipeline specifically designed for an energy consumption management system. This pipeline seamlessly integrates the machine learning model with real-time data management and prediction capabilities. The overall architecture of our proposed pipeline comprises several key components, including Kafka, InfluxDB, Telegraf, Zookeeper, and Grafana. To enable accurate energy consumption predictions, we adopt two time-series prediction models, long short-term memory (LSTM), and seasonal autoregressive integrated moving average (SARIMA). Our analysis reveals a clear trade-off between speed and accuracy, where SARIMA exhibits faster model learning time while LSTM outperforms SARIMA in prediction accuracy. To validate the effectiveness of our pipeline, we measure the overall processing time by optimizing the configuration of Telegraf, which directly impacts the load in the pipeline. The results are promising, as our pipeline achieves an average end-to-end processing time of only 0.39 s for handling 10,000 data records and an impressive 1.26 s when scaling up to 100,000 records. This indicates 30.69-90.88 times faster processing compared to the existing Python-based approach. Additionally, when the number of records increases by ten times, the increased overhead is reduced by 3.07 times. This verifies that the proposed pipeline exhibits an efficient and scalable structure suitable for real-time environments.

Most prior studies have reported decreased amygdala volume in those with a history of alcohol use disorder. Decreased amygdala volume associated with alcohol use disorder may be related to an increased risk of addiction and relapse. However, the relationship between amygdala volume and a broad range of alcohol consumption is largely unexplored. The present cross-sectional analysis investigates the relationship between amygdala volume and self-reported alcohol consumption in participants of the Dallas Heart Study, a community-based study of Dallas County, Texas residents. Brain imaging and survey data from participants (n = 2023) were obtained, and multiple linear regressions were performed with the average amygdala volume as the dependent variable and drinking status, drinking risk, drinks per week, and binge drinking as independent variables. Drinking risk was categorized such that low-risk constituted ≤ 14 drinks per week in men and ≤ 7 drinks per week in women, while > 14 drinks per week in men and > 7 drinks per week in women constituted high-risk. Age, sex, intracranial volume, body mass index, education, and Quick Inventory of Depressive Symptomatology-Self Report score were included in all models as covariates. No statistically significant (p ≤ .05) associations were observed between self-reported alcohol consumption and amygdala volume. The present study suggests non-significant relationships between self-reported alcohol consumption and amygdala volume when controlling for relevant demographic factors in a large, community-based sample.

Green hydrogen generation technologies are currently the most pressing worldwide issues, offering promising alternatives to existing fossil fuels that endanger the globe with growing global warming. The current research focuses on the creation of green hydrogen in alkaline electrolytes utilizing a Ni-Co-nano-graphene thin film cathode with a low overvoltage. The recommended conditions for creating the target cathode were studied by electrodepositing a thin Ni-Co-nano-graphene film in a glycinate bath over an iron surface coated with a thin copper interlayer. Using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) mapping analysis, the obtained electrode is physically and chemically characterized. These tests confirm that Ni, Co, and nano-graphene are homogeneously dispersed, resulting in a lower electrolysis voltage in green hydrogen generation. Tafel plots obtained to analyze electrode stability revealed that the Ni-Co-nano-graphene cathode was directed to the noble direction, with the lowest corrosion rate. The Ni-Co-nano-graphene generated was used to generate green hydrogen in a 25% KOH solution. For the production of 1 kg of green hydrogen utilizing Ni-Co-nano-graphene electrode, the electrolysis efficiency was 95.6% with a power consumption of 52 kwt h-1, whereas it was 56.212. kwt h-1 for pure nickel thin film cathode and 54. kwt h-1 for nickel cobalt thin film cathode, respectively.

Aims Little is known about the association between habitual alcohol consumption and serum high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in women. We aimed to investigate this association in middle-aged Japanese women in a community-based cohort study using conventional statistical analyses and explainable artificial intelligence (AI) analysis. Methods We retrospectively investigated the association between alcohol consumption and HDL-C after 10 years in 90,053 women aged 40-64 years whose drinking habits were generally consistent for 10 years. Results After 10 years, 11.3% and 17.9% of subjects had serum HDL-C decreased by ≥10 mg/dL and ≥10%, respectively. In unadjusted analysis, moderate-to-heavy alcohol consumption may both increase and decrease serum HDL-C levels after 10 years. After adjustment for potential confounding factors, moderate (23-45 g/day) and heavy (≥46 g/day) alcohol consumption were each significantly associated with decreases in HDL-C (OR (95% CI): 1.18 and 1.36 (1.11-1.26 and 1.21-1.53) for ≥10 mg/dL, 1.11 and 1.29 (1.05-1.17 and 1.17-1.43) for ≥10%), but not associated with an increase in HDL-C (0.96 and 0.98 (0.91-1.01 and 0.89-1.08) for ≥10 mg/dL, 0.97 and 0.96 (0.93-1.01 and 0.88-1.05) for ≥10%). Further analysis after adjustment for baseline serum HDL-C showed the same results. AI analysis showed that alcohol consumption was the 8th positive contributor to the decrease in HDL-C, following baseline high HDL-C (≥77 mg/dL), high low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (≥133 mg/dL), high body mass index (≥23.1 kg/m2), pharmacotherapy for dyslipidemia, high triglycerides (≥70 mg/dL), age 44-64 years, and smoking. Heavy alcohol consumption was a more positive contributor to decreased HDL-C than were other alcohol consumption levels. Conclusions Habitual moderate-to-heavy alcohol consumption may cause a significant decrease in serum HDL-C in middle-aged women, which may be modified by concomitant factors.

Electrochemical-induced precipitation is a sustainable approach for tap-water softening, but the hardness removal performance and energy efficiency are vastly limited by the ultraslow ion transport and the superlow local HCO3-/Ca2+ ratio compared to the industrial scenarios. To tackle the challenges, we herein report an energy-efficient electrochemical tap-water softening strategy by utilizing an integrated cathode-anode-cathode (CAC) reactor in which the direction of the electric field is reversed to that of the flow field in the upstream cell, while the same in the downstream cell. As a result, the transport of ions, especially HCO3-, is significantly accelerated in the downstream cell under a flow field. The local HCO3-/Ca2+ ratio is increased by 1.5 times, as revealed by the finite element numerical simulation and in situ imaging. In addition, a continuous flow electrochemical system with an integrated CAC reactor is operated for 240 h to soften tap water. Experiments show that a much lower cell voltage (9.24 V decreased) and energy consumption (28% decreased) are obtained. The proposed ion-transport enhancement strategy by coupled electric and flow fields provides a new perspective on developing electrochemical technologies to meet the flexible and economic demand for tap-water softening.

BACKGROUND: We examined whether the association between alcohol consumption and CRC incidence was stronger for tumors with higher contributions of defective MMR (dMMR)-related tumor mutational signatures (TMSs). METHODS: We used data from 227,916 men and women who participated in the Nurses' Health Study (1980-2016), the Nurses' Health Study II (1991-2017), and the Health Professionals Follow-up Study (1986-2016). Dietary data was collected every 4 years through validated food frequency questionnaires. Relative contributions of two dMMR-related TMSs (c-dMMRa/SBS15 and c-dMMRb/SBS26) were quantified using whole-exome sequencing data in a subset of incident CRC cases. Duplication-method Cox proportional hazards regression models were used to assess the association between alcohol consumption and the risk of CRC subtypes according to different contributions of the TMSs. All statistical tests were 2-sided. RESULTS: We documented 825 incident CRC cases with available TMS data over 26-36 years of follow-up. The association between alcohol consumption and CRC incidence was stronger for tumors with higher contributions of c-dMMRb/SBS26 (P-heterogeneitytrend = 0.02) compared to tumors with lower contributions of this TMS. Compared with nondrinkers, drinkers with ≥15 g/d of alcohol had a high risk of c-dMMRb/SBS26-high CRC [multivariable-adjusted HR: 2.43 (95% CI: 1.55-3.82)], but not c-dMMRb/SBS26-low CRC [0.86 (95% CI: 0.57-1.28)] or c-dMMRb/SBS26-moderate CRC [1.14 (95% CI: 0.76-1.71)]. No significant differential associations were observed for c-dMMRa/SBS15 (P-heterogeneitytrend = 0.41). CONCLUSIONS: High alcohol consumption was associated with an increased incidence of CRC containing higher contributions of c-dMMRb/SBS26, suggesting that alcohol consumption may be involved in colorectal carcinogenesis through the DNA mismatch repair pathway.

Background: Antibiotic selection pressure in human medicine is a significant driver of antibiotic resistance in humans. The primary aspect of antibiotic consumption is associated with general practitioner (GP) prescriptions. We aimed to identify prescriber profiles for targeted antimicrobial stewardship programs using novel indicators. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in 2018 investigating GPs' antibiotic prescriptions in a French department, utilizing the reimbursement database of the national health service. Three antibiotic prescribing indicators were used. Specific targets were established for each indicator to identify the antibiotic prescribers most likely contributing to the emergence of resistance. Results: Over 2018, we had 2,908,977 visits to 784 GPs, leading to 431,549 antibiotic prescriptions. Variations between GPs were shown by the 3 indicators. The median antibiotic prescription rate per visit was 13.6% (interquartile range [IQR], 9.8%-17.7%). Median ratios of the prescriptions of low-impact antibiotics to the prescriptions of high-impact antibiotics and of amoxicillin prescriptions to amoxicillin-clavulanic acid prescriptions were 2.5 (IQR, 1.7-3.7) and 2.94 (IQR, 1.7-5), respectively. We found 163 (21%) high prescribers of antibiotics with 3 distinct patterns: The first group overuses broad-spectrum antibiotics but without an overprescription rate per visit, the second group displays an overprescription rate but no excessive use of broad-spectrum antibiotics, and the third group shows both an overprescription rate and excessive use of broad-spectrum antibiotics. Conclusions: Prescription-based indicators enable the identification of distinct profiles of antibiotic prescribers. This identification may allow for targeted implementation of stewardship programs focused on the specific prescribing patterns of each profile.

Food security is closely related to the development of human society, and the root of food production lies in cultivated land, with water conservancy as its lifeline. This study estimates the ecological water consumption of located in the arid region of Northwest China (the Karamay region and Muzat River basin) from 1990 to 2020 based on the optimized Land Surface Energy Balance Algorithm. The verification accuracy of SEBAL energy balance model is greatly improved after optimization. It was showed an increasing trend in the Karamay region and Muzat River basin, increasing at the rates of 2.84 mm/year and 2.86 mm/year respectively. The suitability of cultivated land was evaluated by combining four periods of 30 m spatial resolution land use/land cover data from 1990, 2000, 2010, and 2020, as well as the Hydrological Statistical Yearbook and Xinjiang Statistical Yearbook. Through the analysis of spatial optimization for cultivated land, it can be inferred that the primary limiting factors affecting cultivated land suitability in the Karamay region are irrigation guarantee rate (54.03%) and soil salinity (11.98%). Muzat River region are irrigation guarantee rate (32.19%) and soil salinity (18.62%). By comparing the scenarios of setting ecological priority and cultivated land priority, it is concluded that under the conditions of water resource constraints and 50%, 75% and 90% design irrigation assurance rates, Karamay still has cultivated land expansion potential, which can be used as the main preparatory reclamation area. In addition to the traditional agriculture irrigation area, the Muzat River basin still has development potential under the condition of ecological priority and no more than 75% irrigation design assurance rate. The study on the cultivated land suitability under the condition of water resource constraints can provide new ideas for food security.

Ensuring preserving a sustainable environment is a crucial concern for individuals worldwide. In previous research, CO2 emissions have been used to measure environmental deterioration. However, in this study, we have expanded the scope to include carbon emissions and several other gases. This comprehensive measure is referred to as the ecological footprint (EFP). More significant international digital trade (IDT) has the potential to achieve several positive results, including reducing EFP (economic frictions and barriers), stimulating economic growth, and minimizing trade risk and volatility. These benefits can be realized by implementing structural reforms in significant production and development sectors. Green technology innovation (GTI) has the potential to make substantial progress in ecological quality and energy efficiency. Nevertheless, previous studies still need to adequately prioritize examining rising economies in terms of international trade diversification and GTI. This study examined the effects of IDT, GTI, and renewable energy consumption (REC) on EFP in BRICST countries. The study utilized data from the period between 1995 and 2022. The cross-sectionally augmented autoregressive distributed lag (CS-ARDL) model demonstrates that EFP negatively correlates with trade diversification, REC, and GTI in the long and short term. These countries have demonstrated a significant presence of eco-friendly products in their trade portfolios, and their manufacturing processes are shifting towards GTI. The objective is to enhance the REC sources and minimize EFP from consumption. Conversely, the increasing economic growth within this economic group has a compounding impact on the environment's decline since it amplifies the carbon emissions from increased consumption. To reduce the EFP level, the paper suggests increasing investment in GTI, promoting worldwide digital trade, and embracing renewable energy sources.

Alcohol misuse - defined as consuming more than 14 units of alcohol per week - is a well-established problem among veterans. This study investigated the change in quality of life among help-seeking UK veterans who completed a 28-day brief alcohol intervention delivered via a digital smartphone application (called DrinksRation) and have previously sought clinical help for a mental health disorder. This study was a secondary outcome analysis of data collected during a randomised control trial. In total, 123 UK veterans participated in the study and were randomly allocated to either the intervention or control arm. Participants completed self-report questionnaires regarding their alcohol use and quality of life (WHOQOL-BREF) at baseline, day 28 (end of intervention), day 84, and day 168. At the primary endpoint (day 84), we found significantly greater improvements in the intervention arm compared to the control arm for psychological quality of life (Cohen's d = 0.47), and environmental quality of life (d = 0.34). However, we observed no statistically significant differences between the intervention and control arm for social relationships and physical quality of life. Further, for day 168 we found no significant differences. Findings suggest that DrinksRation can increase quality of life among help-seeking veterans who have previously sought help for a mental health disorder, but the increases were modest and restricted to certain domains. Additional treatment may be needed for long-term and sustained improvements in quality of life.

Animals routinely encounter environmental (e.g., high temperatures and hypoxia) as well as physiological perturbations (e.g., exercise and digestion) that may threaten homeostasis. However, comparing the relative threat or "disruptiveness" imposed by different stressors is difficult, as stressors vary in their mechanisms, effects, and timescales. We exploited the fact that several acute stressors can induce the loss of equilibrium (LOE) in fish to (i) compare the metabolic recovery profiles of three environmentally relevant stressors and (ii) test the concept that LOE could be used as a physiological calibration for the intensity of different stressors. We focused on Etheostoma caeruleum, a species that routinely copes with environmental fluctuations in temperature and oxygen and that relies on burst swimming to relocate and avoid predators, as our model. Using stop-flow (intermittent) respirometry, we tracked the oxygen consumption rate (MO2) as E. caeruleum recovered from LOE induced by hypoxia (PO2 at LOE), warming (critical thermal maximum, CTmax), or exhaustive exercise. Regardless of the stressor used, E. caeruleum recovered rapidly, returning to routine MO2 within ~3 h. Fish recovering from hypoxia and warming had similar maximum MO2, aerobic scopes, recovery time, and total excess post-hypoxia or post-warming oxygen consumption. Though exhaustive exercise induced a greater maximum MO2 and corresponding higher aerobic scope than warming or hypoxia, its recovery profile was otherwise similar to the other stressors, suggesting that "calibration" to a physiological state such as LOE may be a viable conceptual approach for investigators interested in questions related to multiple stressors, cross tolerance, and how animals cope with challenges to homeostasis.

Soft drink consumption has become a highly controversial public health issue. Given the pattern of consumption in China, sugar-sweetened beverage is the main type of soft drink consumed. Due to containing high levels of fructose, a soft drink may have a deleterious effect on handgrip strength (HGS) due to oxidative stress, inflammation and insulin resistance. However, few studies show an association between soft drink consumption and HGS in adults. We aimed to investigate the association between soft drink consumption and longitudinal changes in HGS among a Chinese adult population. A longitudinal population-based cohort study (5-year follow-up, median: 3·66 years) was conducted in Tianjin, China. A total of 11 125 participants (56·7 % men) were enrolled. HGS was measured using a handheld digital dynamometer. Soft drink consumption (mainly sugar-containing carbonated beverages) was measured at baseline using a validated FFQ. ANCOVA was used to evaluate the association between soft drink consumption and annual change in HGS or weight-adjusted HGS. After adjusting for multiple confounding factors, the least square means (95 % CI) of annual change in HGS across soft drink consumption frequencies were -0·70 (-2·49, 1·09) for rarely drinks, -0·82 (-2·62, 0·97) for < 1 cup/week and -0·86 (-2·66, 0·93) for ≥ 1 cup/week (Pfor trend < 0·05). Likewise, a similar association was observed between soft drink consumption and annual change in weight-adjusted HGS. The results indicate that higher soft drink consumption was associated with faster HGS decline in Chinese adults.

Supercapacitive swing adsorption (SSA) modules with bipolar stacks having 2, 4, 8, and 12 electrode pairs made from BPL 4 × 6 activated carbon are constructed and tested for carbon dioxide capture applications. Tests are performed with simulated flue gas (15%CO2 /85%N2) at 2, 4, 8, and 12 V, respectively. Reversible adsorption with sorption capacities (≈58 mmol kg-1) and adsorption rates (≈38 µmol kg-1 s-1) are measured for all stacks. The productivity scales with the number of cells in the module, and increases from 70 to 390 mmol h-1 m-2. The energy efficiency and energy consumption improve with increasing number of bipolar electrodes from 67% to 84%, and 142 to 60 kJ mol-1, respectively. Overall, the results show that SSA modules with bipolar electrodes can be scaled without reducing the adsorptive performance, and with improvement of energetic performance.

Tumor cells establish a robust self-defense system characterized by hypoxia, antioxidant overexpression, DNA damage repair, and so forth to resist radiotherapy. Targeting one of these features is insufficient to overcome radioresistance due to the feedback mechanisms initiated by tumor cells under radiotherapy. Therefore, we herein developed an engineering biomimetic nanosystem (M@HHPt) masked with tumor cell membranes and loaded with a hybridized protein-based nanoparticle carrying oxygens (O2) and cisplatin prodrugs (Pt(IV)) to target multiple tumor radioresistance hallmarks for enhanced radiotherapy. After administration, M@HHPt actively targeted and smoothly accumulated in tumor cells by virtue of its innate homing abilities to realize efficient co-delivery of O2 and Pt(IV). O2 introduction induced hypoxia alleviation cooperated with Pt(IV) reduction caused glutathione consumption greatly amplified radiotherapy-ignited cellular oxidative stress. Moreover, the released cisplatin effectively hindered DNA damage repair by crosslinking with radiotherapy-produced DNA fragments. Consequently, M@HHPt-sensitized radiotherapy significantly suppressed the proliferation of lung cancer H1975 cells with an extremely high sensitizer enhancement ratio of 1.91 and the progression of H1975 tumor models with an excellent tumor inhibition rate of 94.7%. Overall, this work provided a feasible strategy for tumor radiosensitization by overcoming multiple radioresistance mechanisms.

This study was designed to determine how impulsivity, self-regulation, and response withholding are related to one another and to university students' drinking behavior. Participants (N = 108) completed measures of impulsivity, self-regulation, and alcohol consumption. In addition, a computerized Go/No Go task and a backward memory task were used to measure participants' behavioral impulsivity and their memory capacity. The aim was to determine whether (a) light/moderate and heavy drinkers would respond differently when the task stimuli were alcohol-related compared to when they were alcohol-unrelated and (b) whether the accuracy of participants' responses was related to their cognitive ability. Compared to light/moderate drinkers, heavy drinkers were low in self-regulation and high in impulsivity. Heavy drinkers and those with lower memory capacity were also poorer at withholding responses on No Go trials. These findings point to personality/cognitive characteristics that influence university students' alcohol consumption.

Alcohol protective behavioral strategies (PBS) are commonly conceptualized with a three-factor model, as used in the Protective Behavioral Strategies Scale-20 (PBSS-20). However, inconsistencies exist between factors and drinking outcomes. The current study used factor analysis to test a two-factor structure directly via controlled consumption (Direct/CC) and indirectly via harm reduction (Indirect/HR) using the PBSS-20 among a combined sample of n = 4,883 drinkers. Both the two- and three-factor structures evince similar model fit. A two-factor model yielded more concise PBS measurement. Negative associations were observed with consumption (Direct/CC PBS) and problems (Indirect/HR). A condensed, eight-item, two-factor model accounted for less variance in alcohol consumption, however more variance in alcohol-related problems. A more consistent framework for understanding the impact of PBS on alcohol-related outcomes is provided.

Objective: Extensive research has consistently shown the beneficial impact of fruit consumption on overall health. While some studies have proposed a potential association between fruit consumption and hypertension management, the influence of fruit consumption on mortality rates among hypertensive individuals remains uncertain. Consequently, aim of this study is to evaluate whether fruit consumption is associated with all-cause mortality among hypertensive patients. Methods: Data were obtained from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), conducted between 2003 and 2006. Ten-year follow-up data from the National Death Index (NDI) were used to assess all-cause mortality. Cox proportional hazard model was utilized to explore the impact of fruit intake on all-cause mortality among hypertensive individuals. Results: The study included a cohort of 2,480 patients diagnosed with hypertension, and during the follow-up period, a total of 658 deaths from various causes were recorded. The COX regression analysis demonstrated that hypertensive patients who consumed apples three to six times per week exhibited a significantly reduced risk of all-cause mortality (HR = 0.60, 95%CI: 0.45-0.78, p < 0.001) in comparison to those who consumed apples less than once per month. Likewise, consuming bananas three to six times per week also led to a comparable outcome (HR = 0.76, 95%CI: 0.59-0.97, p = 0.027). Moreover, Combined consumption of bananas and apples three to six times per week exhibited a noteworthy decrease in all-cause mortality (HR = 0.57, 95%CI: 0.39-0.84, p = 0.005) when compared to individuals who consumed these fruits less frequently. Conversely, no significant association was found between the consumption of other fruits, including pears, pineapples, and grapes, and all-cause mortality. Conclusion: The study discovered that moderate consumption of apples and bananas was associated with a reduced risk of all-cause mortality in patients with hypertension.
